Summary

Snake

The enemy is two steps ahead。
Every time we think we have answers,
We're left with only more questions。
I've made mistakes,
Hunted the wrong villains,
And now innocents are paying the price。
Naomi's found herself in the middle of it all。
She can't know how broken I am,
The rage that I keep buried inside,
Or that my past has become her nightmare。
Naomi fears she's a damsel trapped by her villain,
But she's my queen。
And it's time she breaks free。

Naomi
The villain has me trapped。
Every time I think I can escape,
The chains strengthen and my hope fades。
I've made mistakes,
Trusted the wrong man,
And now I'm paying the price。
Snake wants me to run away from it all。
He doesn't know how caged I am,
The fears that keep me frozen in place。
Or that my dream has become my nightmare。
Snake worries he's a monster ruined by his past,
But he's my knight。
And it's time I break free。

Greer did it again。 The Conviction series just keeps on getting better! This was my favorite book so far in the series, and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out。 Snake, Naomi, and Thea’s story was written with such compassion, care, and beautifully written。 Domestic abuse is not an easy topic to bring into a story let alone a series。 But Greer handled it magnificently。 That twist though! Ugh, I am annoyed with myself that I didn’t catch on to it until BLAM it was there。 Seriously can’t wait Greer did it again。 The Conviction series just keeps on getting better! I have loved all 3 books in this series! Greer is an amazing writer!! You are able to relate to the characters and understand their choices。 She touches on sensitive topics but we see the MC's work through that trauma! I highly recommend reading the first two! TW: this book does require a trigger warning for domestic violence and sexual assault。 Protect yourselves if you know you're sensitive。 Greer also gives a TW which I LOVE because a lot of authors do not。Amazing!! Breaking Conviction is the third book in the Conviction series by Greer Rivers。 You need to read Escaping Conviction and Fighting Conviction before you read Breaking Conviction。 While you will still enjoy the story if you do not read the first two, there are crucial introductions to some of the team, history that may leave you feeling like you've missed out, and obviously two spicy stories that you shouldn't miss out on。*This section contains triggers* In Breaking Conviction, you actually overla Breaking Conviction is the third book in the Conviction series by Greer Rivers。 You need to read Escaping Conviction and Fighting Conviction before you read Breaking Conviction。 While you will still enjoy the story if you do not read the first two, there are crucial introductions to some of the team, history that may leave you feeling like you've missed out, and obviously two spicy stories that you shouldn't miss out on。*This section contains triggers* In Breaking Conviction, you actually overlap timelines with Fighting Conviction。 You're first introduced to Snake and Naomi from Ellie's perspective when Naomi comes into Sasha Saves。 In past books, Greer has written about human trafficking, sexual assault, murder, etc。 This book takes a different route and, while they still talk about trafficking, trauma, and assault, this book looks at the relationship with domestic violence。 I would highly recommend proceeding with caution。 While I personally have not been physically assaulted, I still had some triggers from the emotional manipulation。 I've also been around survivors my entire life and this story brought back some memories that weren't pleasant。 That being said。。。 do not shy away from this book based on that。 If you are a survivor and want to avoid it, I understand。 However, this is an educational experience and eye-opening to both the survivor perspective and the volunteer support perspective。 Now, for what we are really here for。 Snake is part of an elite group of ex-military men that created a security firm, that has been focusing on human trafficking in their area。 He's the tech guy of the group and a total Superman type guy。 You know he's hot, wears glasses, saves the day。。。 Yea。 Superman。 Naomi is an assistant to the CEO of a major company and mother to Thea, the coolest little princess。 When Naomi and Snake meet, it's not under good circumstances。 However, Thea immediately bonded with Snake, made him watching Brave, and dubbed him and Naomi the King and Queen。To prevent spoilers, I'm going to be vague here and not talk specifically about the storyline (which is Ah-Mazing)。 Naomi's character is a beautiful soul who has lost herself。 Snake has a history of his own that makes him protective。 This book is more of a protective alpha trope, while Naomi is giving off a mild enemies-to-lovers vibe。 Snake steps up to the plate and proves himself trustworthy while breaking down Naomi's walls, and the whole process turns attraction into a real connection。 And no surprise, the spice is top-shelf。 I'll never think about caramel chocolate chip cookies the same again。 Greer Rivers is a wonderful romance author that knows how to write characters in the same universe, that are all interconnected, but totally different in every way。 You think you will know the characters but you will be surprised as the character development unfolds。 The relationships are distinctly different and all of them are spicy and satisfying。 Greer gives the best "happy-ever-afters" while leaving the reader aware there's another book coming, but not frustrated with a cliffhanger。 I know there's a fourth book coming out, and very much excited for the continuation of this universe, and seeing another couple's relationship blossom。 *I was given an advanced reader copy in return for an honest review。 The author did not purchase my review or persuade me in any way。 These thoughts and words are my own。* 。。。more

So good Major trigger warnings with this book。There is so much going on in this amazing story。 You get a continuation of the trafficking ring。 It's hard for Naomi。 Either stay with the abusive father of her child or the amazing man that wants them both。 Chapter 14 when Wes tells her how he sees her, loved it。 When they kiss, I was kinda surprised it was Naomi that makes the first move。  Wes is a combination of good guy and bad boy (mostly good)。The unbelievable twist near the end, I was shocked! Greer Rivers did it again! She slayed Snake and Naomi’s story。 Greer always had a unique way of pulling me into her story and this book was no exception。Naomi came into the series in the end of Escaping Conviction, because of her need for Sasha Save’s。 Her relationship with her “fiancé” was certainly volatile and her need to protect her daughter was fierce。 I got frustrated with her thought process because I knew from experience all her, for lack of a better word, “excuses。” I loved watching her Greer Rivers did it again! Y’all! This book。 This was the first book I’ve read by Greer Rivers。 I plan on reading the first two in the series at some point but even not reading them I was able to follow the storyline of Naomi and Wes。 I don’t normally read books in third person, but this one was amazing! I’m officially on the Greer Rivers fan train。 Naomi is an amazing woman, and an even better mom。 Her unwavering love for her daughter is her strength, and it’s something you don’t see enough in books。 Wes gives you the si Y’all! I’m officially on the Greer Rivers fan train。 Naomi is an amazing woman, and an even better mom。 Her unwavering love for her daughter is her strength, and it’s something you don’t see enough in books。 Wes gives you the silent but deadly vibe, and the fact that he was nerdy with blue hair was enough for me to love him as is。 His instant need to protect her from their first meeting gave me all the butterflies。 Naomi is in an abusive relationship, one where she doesn’t feel that she can escape from yet。 When things turn ugly and she nearly loses her life at her abuser’s hands, she finds a place for her and her daughter to go。 A safe place, for people like her – a place called Sasha Saves。 She also makes herself a promise that day。 Throughout the book, you watch Naomi become a part of the team, helping women (and men) like her。 Survivors。 You watch as she finds her strength enough to leave her abusive life, you watch her fall in love for real, and you watch her become a true badass。 I loved everything about Naomi, and Wes was the perfect guy for her。 She pushes him away for a bit because she wants her daughter to have a relationship with her father, but it makes up for lost time once she finally gives into her feelings for him。 The plot twist at the end of this book is insane! I had a hunch, but never anything to convince me fully。 The trafficking element of the story continues to grow and unlock more secrets, and Naomi surprisingly ends up more involved than you’d expect。 The mystery of this book is amazing! Even after getting the details, I still don’t have a hunch as to who’s behind it all really。 This book keeps you on your toes for sure! When I read the synopsis, it sounded so intriguing。 It exceeded my expectations!Definitely check your trigger warnings before reading! There are graphic details of domestic abuse, violence, trafficking, sexual activity, unaliving, etc。I received an ARC copy of this book for my honest review。 。。。more

This book is really incredible! Not only does the action of the story keep you on the edge of your seat, but Naomi's journey to leaving her abuser feels very realistic to me。 Everything from her shame that she let him do it to the thoughts that he will change might resonate with survivors of DV。 But of course the biggest reason she stays is for her cutie-patootie daughter, Thea。When Naomi seeks help at Sasha Saves, she is defensive and ready to bolt。 Then she comes across Wes, who is just YUM! So far, this is my favorite book of this ongoing series that just keeps getting better and better。Let me just say, this is probably going to be my top book of the YEAR and I have not been able to stay that about any books so confidently。 I use to think that Ellie and Devil were going to be my favorite couple, but Naomi and Wes take the cake on this one。 Nothing gets to me like a hot guy being good with kids and not in a way "oh look he's holding a kid, that's so cute" kind of way, but a genuinely caring and protective manner。 Wes is set apart from Devil and Jason because even though he is protective, he doesn't border on obsession as the others do。 While I have never experienced physical abuse, I have dealt with emotional abuse and Rivers does a phenomenal job of how she handles Naomi's abuse and how she reacts to her friend's abuse as well - it isn't always the same story for survivors and I really appreciate the way that Rivers。 Additionally, the major plot twists were done SO WELL。 There is a quote that says "if you don't see a twist coming, it's not a good one" and the twist with both Gail and Pheonix was spot on and so disappointing。 I have never cried while reading a book, but Breaking Conviction surprisingly made me cry - the relationship between Naomi and Wes really is the cutest and they just make ME feel safe。 。。。more

There are a lot of books where I enjoy the characters, and it’s rare that one really sticks with me, but the author made me fall totally in love with Wes! As always, the storyline is captivating in BC and I hated having to put it down to go be an adult。 Greer writes the perfect mix of romance and suspense and Breaking Conviction does not disappoint!

Greer really took no corners with this story。 It shows the inner working of the mind of a domestic violence survivor from her point of view。 It was so well written that I had an understanding of why she was in her situation to begin with, but more importantly is the growth that she took to overcome her situation and take control back。 Thank you for that Greer。 The story follows Wes aka Snake and Naomi journey to there HEA with returning characters from the first two books in the series。 It a emo Greer really took no corners with this story。 It shows the inner working of the mind of a domestic violence survivor from her point of view。 It was so well written that I had an understanding of why she was in her situation to begin with, but more importantly is the growth that she took to overcome her situation and take control back。 Thank you for that Greer。 The story follows Wes aka Snake and Naomi journey to there HEA with returning characters from the first two books in the series。 It a emotional story, but got just enough action and sassy/humour bits to break up the tension。 Thea (4year old Princess) was also a very welcome addition to the story and pulls on the heart strings。 The relationship development was wonderful to read。 Trigger in this book will definitely be Domestic Violence, but since it a follow up from the first two books in the series the concept and mention of sec trafficking is mentioned throughout the book。 I can’t wait to see how the next book is about。 Left with so much wonder of the stories of the other characters。 Even though it can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading it in order of published to enjoy the overall story even more。 。。。more
